The effect of covert narcissism on workplace incivility: The mediating role of self-esteem and norms for respect

Abstract There has been an abundance of research on narcissism in the workplace. However, most focused overt (grandiosity) form narcissism, as well effect uncivil behaviors employees; focusing directly covert (vulnerability) employees’ experience workplace incivility is lacking. The present examined whether personality trait (covert narcissism) employees affects their considering two potential explanatory variables: self-esteem and perceived norms for respect. A total 150 participants completed online questionnaire, which consisted four well-known measures: Hypersensitive Narcissism Scale, Rosenberg Self-esteem scale, Perceived Norms Respect, Workplace Incivility Scale. results showed that with higher levels are likely to have greater experiences through mediating role Although relationship was not explained self-esteem, it instead observed respect jointly affect at work.
